McGregor up for Obi-Wan movie?

Ewan McGregor is keen on the idea of appearing in one of the new Star Wars films

Ewan McGregor has hinted that he would be interested in reprising his Star Wars role in a spin-off movie.

Disney has announced that a series of standalone films set in the Star Wars universe are in the pipeline, and Ewan - who played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequel trilogy - said he thinks it's "a good idea".

"The only bit that I could get away with doing is after the last one I made, Episode III, before Alec Guinness, there's that period where he's in the desert," he told MTV.

The star suggested the story could focus on what Obi-Wan was doing on Tatooine before he met Luke Skywalker.

"That might be my window, there, to tell that story. I don't know what he did in the desert. We could make up some stuff."

"I'd be up for it," added the actor.

Plans for the new movies emerged earlier this month, with Disney CEO Bob Iger telling the CNBC channel: "We are working on a few standalone films... derived from great Star Wars characters."

As well as the standalone movies, a new Star Wars trilogy is in the works. The first of those films, Episode 7, will be directed by JJ Abrams.

Virgo:

It's difficult to deal with a highly competitive colleague. Every time you submit work, they try to find ways to outperform you. Although you have no interest in pitting your talent against theirs, this other person thinks very differently. Ignoring them won't be possible. A good way to disarm this pest is to invite them out for coffee. Describe what you've observed and ask for a truce. Irrational people are often thrown off balance when their behaviour is addressed in a direct manner.More
