McGregor's tears over film script

Ewan McGregor says the script for his film The Impossible moved him to tears

Ewan McGregor has revealed the script for his emotional new movie The Impossible made him weep.

The Scottish star and Naomi Watts play a tsunami-hit family in the film, which was written by Sergio G Sanchez.

"I was absolutely struck by the simplicity of following this one family's experience. And that moved me to tears," Ewan told Variety.

"I was a mess and I was reading a script, and I read hundreds of scripts. I had to blow my nose, stop myself from crying. I was so wrapped up."

The Impossible tells the true story of Maria Belon and her family, who were holidaying in Thailand in 2004 when the Indian Ocean tsunami struck.

Spanish director and screenwriter Sergio said a disaster can bring out the best in people.

"It's such a wonderful experience to feel helpful. And sometimes life has to slap you in the face to make you go out of your way and do it."

Taurus:

An embarrassing secret will come to light, affecting your reputation. Somebody who once admired you will now turn away in dismay. Instead of trying to win their affection again, lay low for a wee while. You'll make a much better impression by letting your actions speak for themselves. There is a chance this relationship is beyond redemption. If your former friend decides to keep their distance, you will have no other choice than to respect their feelings. Better luck next time.More
