McKellen's Gandalf back for Hobbit
Sir Ian McKellen will reprise his role as Gandalf the wizard in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit.
Also on board for the forthcoming two-part prequel to the Lord Of The Rings trilogy is Andy Serkis, who is finalising his deal to bring Gollum back, said the Hollywood Reporter.
Christopher Lee (Saruman) and Ian Holm (the older version of Bilbo Baggins) are also in talks to return to Middle Earth once again, according to Deadline.
Elijah Wood reportedly signed his contract to return as Frodo last week, and Cate Blanchett will play Galadriel once again. Orlando Bloom apparently has an offer to return as elf archer Legolas, though it's too early to tell if a deal will be made.
Martin Freeman is to play the young Bilbo, and filming on the 3D movies are expected to start in mid-February in New Zealand.
