McShane's tiny role in Snow White

Ian McShane will play a dwarf in a big screen version of Snow White

Ian McShane is to play a dwarf in Snow White.

The British actor, currently seen on screen as Blackbeard in Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, has signed on to play Caesar, leader of the dwarves in Rupert Sanders' revisionist big-screen adaptation of the classic fairytale, said Heat Vision blog.

Kristen Stewart plays the eponymous heroine, with Charlize Theron cast as her evil stepmother.

Thor star Chris Hemsworth would be the huntsman who was due to have killed Snow White, but is training her to survive and fight back instead.

The film is scheduled to start production in August, with a release due for summer 2012.

Ian is currently filming Jack The Giant Killer, where he plays a benevolent king in the contemporary version of Jack And The Beanstalk.
