Michael Bay to develop Ghost Recon

Michael Bay is reportedly working on Ghost Recon for the big screen

Transformers director Michael Bay has signed up to develop a film version of the video game Ghost Recon.

The filmmaker, currently working on Transformers 4, could also direct the potential film franchise, according to Variety,

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon features a fictional unit of the US Army Special Forces which operates as the President's private army, fighting threats from around the world while pretending that they don't exist.

Jean-Julien Baronnet, CEO of Ubisoft Motion Pictures, told Variety: "These guys don't belong to any specific organisation. They're in the field where the US troops are not supposed to be.

"It's a small team with very strong personalities and very specific skill sets. They're using weapons nobody knows about but it's very grounded. It's not sci-fi."
