Mila Kunis is interested in playing heroine Anastasia Steele in the movie adaptation of erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey.

Apparently the 29-year-old actress wants to appear in the film, despite the risqué theme.

The novel, and sequels Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, follows the S&M relationship between innocent student Anastasia and businessman Christian Grey.

"There are times when you just want to do something fun and different, because you're going to have a good time doing it," the actress told British newspaper The Sun.

British actresses Emma Watson and Felicity Jones have also been linked to the role, while Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper are said to be in line to play kinky billionaire Christian.

The E.L. James book has sold 65 million copies and is being adapted into a movie by British screenwriter Kelly Marcel.

"It will be raunchy - we're 100 per cent going there," Kelly told the publication.
