Miller and Irons move to High-Rise

Sienna Miller and Jeremy Irons have joined the cast of High-Rise.

Tom Hiddleston is starring as a young doctor in the adaptation of JG Ballard's classic thriller, directed by British filmmaker Ben Wheatley.

Sienna will play his love interest, who works as an assistant to an architect, played by Jeremy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

High-Rise, published in 1975, is set in a luxurious block of flats which is designed to cut off its residents from the outside world. Life in the building descends into chaos, and the residents, isolated from the authorities, end up living at war with one another.

Ben's movie is angled with the hindsight that the tower block is built on the eve of Margaret Thatcher's rise to power, at the site of what will soon become the world's financial hub.

The Sightseers director has teamed up with his writer wife Amy Jump, who he worked with on Kill List and A Field In England, to bring the dystopian sci-fi novel to the big screen.

The film has been in the works for several years and is being produced by Jeremy Thomas, an old friend of Ballard, the English novelist who died in 2009.

Shooting is due to begin in July in Belfast.
