Mintz-Plasse: Roth for Kick-Ass 2

Christopher Mintz-Plasse thinks Eli Roth should direct the sequel

Eli Roth would be the perfect director for Kick-Ass 2, according to Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

The actor, who played Chris D'Amico aka Red Mist in the first film, reckons the Hostel filmmaker - part of the Splat Pack group - would work his magic on the "very violent" sequel.

"I've thought, Eli Roth would be such a cool director for this - or someone who hasn't done a comic book movie but gets horror because it's very violent. Very bloody," he told Collider.

Christopher - who next stars in Fright Night - isn't sure if Matthew Vaughn would be on board to direct the follow-up, which is expected to see Aaron Johnson and Chloe Moretz back together.

"I talked to Matthew and he's like, 'I don't know if I would ever direct it, but I would definitely be on board to produce it'," he said.

The Superbad star, who turns 23 on June 20, would like to reprise his role for the eagerly anticipated sequel, although he cast doubts over when it would happen.

"Chloe is working up a storm, man. She's non-stop. So, who knows if we'll ever do it? I know I would love to, and I think Aaron would love to. I'm sure Chloe would, but we're all just kind of busy right now. Please make this movie!" he added.
