Model Agyness inspired by husband

Agyness Deyn arriving at a gala screening of the film Pusher at the Hackney Picturehouse, London

Agyness Deyn revealed that she is inspired by her actor husband's career as she took her biggest film role to date.

The 29-year-old model-turned-actress, whose real name is Laura Hollins, stars as stripper Flo in the English language remake of Nicolas Winding Refn's gritty thriller Pusher.

Once dubbed "the new Kate Moss", the model - who married Giovanni Ribisi in a surprise wedding in June - wore a white Comme des Garcons dress at the film's gala screening at Hackney Picturehouse in east London.

Agyness - who made her big-screen debut in 2010's Clash Of The Titans - said of Giovanni: "He's so creative and such a brave guy. He's so great at what he does so, yeah, (I am inspired by him)."

She said she doesn't expect to be given special treatment: "I'm just auditioning and going for stuff like every other up-and-coming actress. I don't expect to be given anything."

Agyness's on-screen presence and acting in Luis Prieto's film won compliments from the Spanish director and co-star Richard Coyle, who plays her screen boyfriend Frank. "She's really great to work with. She's very adept and knows her way around the camera, and has a lack of vanity which was surprising," said Richard.

Luis added: "She let herself be directed and was easy to work with."

Danish film-maker Winding Refn, who made the original 1996 film, said: "I think she did something quite unique and how she photographs very well. I'm thinking about doing some more stuff with her."

Agyness, who is preparing to star in Terence Davies' next film, Sunset Song, said acting is her new focus: "Acting has challenged me: my fears, my creativity and my openness. I just want to push myself in as many ways I can."

Pusher opens in cinemas on October 12.

Taurus:

An embarrassing secret will come to light, affecting your reputation. Somebody who once admired you will now turn away in dismay. Instead of trying to win their affection again, lay low for a wee while. You'll make a much better impression by letting your actions speak for themselves. There is a chance this relationship is beyond redemption. If your former friend decides to keep their distance, you will have no other choice than to respect their feelings. Better luck next time.More
