Moretz confirmed for If I Stay

Chloe Moretz is to play a girl in a coma in supernatural film If I Stay, it has been confirmed

The Kick-Ass actress was previously linked to the thriller but has now officially committed to the project, reported Deadline.

She will play a 17-year-old classical musician, who is dating an indie rock star. When she and her family are involved in a car accident and she finds herself in a coma, she is left drifting between life and death and must choose to give in to her injuries or fight to live and be with her boyfriend.

RJ Cutler, director of acclaimed documentary The September Issue, will be at the helm of the film adaptation of the 2009 novel by Gayle Forman.

Movie bosses are currently looking to cast the other roles.

Shooting is due to start in Vancouver in October.
