Viggo Mortensen is to star in comedy drama Captain Fantastic.

The Lord Of The Rings star will play a father-of-six, who teaches his children how to survive in the wilderness - but he struggles to adjust himself when he is forced out of the forests into the real world.

Steve Zahn, Katheryn Hahn, Missi Pyle and Erin Moriarty will join Viggo and Frank Langella in the film, to be directed by Matt Ross, reported Entertainment Weekly.

Harold van Lier, president of Entertainment One Films International, said: "This is a project we all fell in love with and was voted best script of 2014 by our distribution teams on the ground.

"It is a very original story, both funny and deeply emotional and a wonderful role for Viggo. I don't think we have read anything like it since Little Miss Sunshine, but this is altogether very different," he added.

Viggo, last seen in The Two Faces Of January, will next star in Lisando Alonso's drama Jauja and French drama Far From Men.

Your Horoscopes by Russell Grant

Taurus:

Your forceful personality makes people sit up and take notice of you. This is a great time to show off your expert knowledge. Demonstrating a command for facts and figures will result in a teaching or media position. Make sure you don't impose this air of authority at home. Your family won't appreciate being ordered around. You may be a superstar in intellectual circles, but you're just another relative on the domestic front. Don't bristle at your loved ones' irreverence. It's good for your ego.More
