Mulligan joins McQueen's Shame
Carey Mulligan is the latest star to join the cast of Steve McQueen's Shame.
Michael Fassbender and up-and-coming James Badge Dale have also been added to the drama, which has been written by the Hunger director and Brick Lane screenwriter Abi Morgan, reported Variety.
Michael, who previously worked with Steve in the Bafta-winning Hunger, is to play a man living in New York struggling with his sex addiction, with Carey portraying his troubled sister.
James is tipped to play his boss.
The film, produced by The King's Speech producer Iain Canning, is expected to start filming in January.
Hunger, released in 2008 and telling the story of the 1981 Irish hunger strike, scooped a number of festival awards and Steve was honoured with the Camera d'Or (first-time director) gong at the Cannes Film Festival.
