Liam Neeson and Mark Wahlberg are said to be in talks to star in dark sci-fi movie Neuromancer.
The big screen adaptation of William Gibson's cult classic novel has been in the works for some time. But following the arrival of producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura to the project in May, Moviehole.Net is now reporting that Liam and Mark have both been offered the starring roles in the 'cyberpunk' story about shady goings on in the world of computer hacking.
Bonaventura cast Mark in both Four Brothers and Shooter and has reportedly offered him the lead role of Case, a cyber cowboy, hacker, thief and drug addict.
As a punishment for his crimes, Case's nervous system has been damaged in order to prevent him from "jacking in" to cyberspace.
Liam would play Armitage, a shady ex-military spy who offers to cure Case, in return for help with a dangerous secret mission against some powerful organisations.
The film is being directed by Splice's Vincenzo Natali.
