New end for Gosling's Gangster film

The end of Ryan Gosling's new movie is being changed

Ryan Gosling's new film Gangster Squad is to have its ending changed in the wake of the Batman massacre in Colorado last week.

The Canadian star appears alongside Josh Brolin, Nick Nolte, Emma Stone and Sean Penn in the gangster movie, which ended with a climactic shoot-out in a cinema.

Warner Bros has put back the release date for the film from September this year to January 2013 while filmmakers come up with an alternative ending, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

A glimpse of the cinema shoot-out was included in the trailer, but that has now been cut too.

The changes are being made in the wake of the shooting that killed 12 people during a screening of Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises in Colorado.

Gangster Squad is based on a police unit in the 1940s and 1950s battling with mobsters.

Ryan had already begun re-filming scenes for the film. He and Josh were pictured filming scenes on a porch in Los Angeles last week.
