Nicholas Hoult has bagged the lead role in new movie Birdsong.
The former Skins star will take on the role of WWI army officer Stephen Wraysford in the big screen adaptation of Sebastian Faulks' novel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Rupert Wyatt, who penned the script and will direct, said Nicholas was perfect for the role of a soldier who falls in love with a married woman.
"[Hoult's] great weight, depth and range as a fearless young actor allow us to explore this timeless story of a boy broken by a tragic love affair and what it means for young men to experience the real horror of war," he said.
The movie is expected to be released in 2014.
Nicholas can currently be see in zombie romance Warm Bodies, and last week it emerged that he was in talks to star in futuristic thriller Young Ones.
