Bill Nighy has assured fans of Total Recall that the remake is in "brilliant hands".
The Love Actually actor told Collider that, even though he hates watching himself in films, he can't wait to see Len Wiseman's remake, in which he plays Kuato.
He said: "The original is treasured by people, I know, but I think I can help them relax. I think it's in very, very good hands. I've worked with Len Wiseman before, on the Underworld series... and, I admire him beyond measure. I think he's tremendous, as a man and as a director. If Total Recall is going to be remade, I think it's in very good, beyond safe, really brilliant hands."
He added that the script of the film, due out next year, was "fabulous" and the cast was great.
He said: "Colin [Farrell], Jessica [Biel], Bryan Cranston and Kate Beckinsale are a pretty hot cast. I look forward to seeing that, even though I'm in it. I hate seeing films I'm in, but I think I'm going to have to watch it because I want to see it so bad."
Bill is currently starring in Arthur Christmas, in which he voices mischievous Grandsanta, and said he enjoys voicing animations.
"I like it when things get a little daft. Now that I've played a four-foot tall, 136-year-old man with no hair and no teeth, it's very good fun. Obviously, you get to play parts that you would never get to play anywhere else. It's liberating," he said.
