No Carrie-copy characters for SJP

Sarah Jessica Parker won't be a 'poor man's' Carrie Bradshaw

Sarah Jessica Parker has said she'll never play another character like her Sex And The City alter-ego again.

The actress starred as fashion-loving writer Carrie Bradshaw in the hit television series and two spin-off films, and admitted she would hate to play a "poor man's version" of the much-loved character, so she goes after different sorts of roles.

She told Elle magazine's Women In Hollywood issue: "I don't love the idea of playing another woman who loves fashion and is slightly flawed in New York City.

"I loved Sex And The City's Carrie and I don't want to do the poor man's version of her."

The mum-of-three, who is married to actor Matthew Broderick, added that "while those are often the lucrative things to do, it's more reason to look in the other direction".

SJP, 47, was one of nine women who were honoured in the magazine for their contributions to the movie industry.

Actresses Octavia Spencer, Cate Blanchett, Kristen Wiig, Uma Thurman, Elle Fanning, Emma Watson, Shirley MacLaine and Susan Sarandon were also celebrated in the special issue.

Gemini:

You never do anything in moderation. Attend every fun party, accept every juicy offer and try all the delectable treats spread before you. Avoid unpleasant people and activities like the plague. This should be a time of enjoyment. Leave your list of chores at home. You can always attend to these jobs at another time. If you have a chance to show your creative work to a publisher, manager or agent, go ahead. This is also a great opportunity to go on job interviews, auditions and first dates.More
