No fake tan for X Factor twins John and Edward
Saturday, 21 November 2009
Their pale Irish complexions are as much part of their image as their big hair and shiny suits.
So it’s no surprise that John and Edward will be the only finalists not to benefit from a Northern Ireland-based tanning spray this weekend.
X Factor bosses invited Co Antrim woman Alyson Hogg to the London studio last night to spray tan the finalists with one of the products from her Vita Liberata range.
However, Alyson, who works out of Parkgate near Templepatrick, was told that the Dublin twins would not be requiring a golden glow for tonight’s show.
Alyson, who has tanned a number of celebrities including Rachel Stevens and Yasmin Le Bon, said: “We distribute the Vita Liberata brand throughout the UK, Sweden and parts of the US and the X Factor bosses got to hear of our products and asked us to come along to spray tan the finalists.
“We were told that Stacey Solomon would definitely be wanting a tan and the male finalists as well but that we would not be doing John and Edward.
“Our tans are hydrating and don’t smell so there’ll be no problem with them going patchy which I think the X Factor production team had been worried about before.
“Even though Danyl Johnson is already quite dark we’ll still tan him because he’ll have grey undertones to his skin which will look better with our spray tan.
“But the X Factor bosses want the twins to stay pale.”
Meanwhile, John and Edward could be onto a winner tonight with the Wham classic I’m Your Man. According to reports, the Terrible Twins will treat the nation to the Jedward version of the 1985 number one single.
It is understood they had been planning to perform the Wham Rap for the George Michael-themed week but it was changed by mentor Louis Walsh because he was concerned the song wasn’t well-known enough.
The decision to Wham it up this weekend was allegedly made by Simon Cowell who had originally been considering an Elton John theme. The song choice could help Jedward survive another week. The bookmakers are predicting Welsh warbler Lloyd Daniels to get the boot on Sunday.
“Our punters are convinced Jedward have a lot more left in the tank,” Sharon McHugh, from Irish bookmakers Paddy Power, said.
“They look certainties to make it through to next week and even the most pessimistic of punters are beginning to realise that the chance of them making the final is now very good indeed.”

I'm glad they didn't want a fake tan because it shows you don't have to have a tan to be cute :)
Not to mention i so hope they do get through. They deserve to and yeah i agree Llyod should be in the bottom two alongside Danyl or someone. I MEAN he's good but i love Jedward more and ive already voted so i hope all the other fans will vote aswell.
Ive never understood why Ireland can't vote =S
