No Hollywood dreams for Tautou

Audrey Tautou found fame starring in the movie Amelie

Audrey Tautou has revealed she's more than happy to stay in her native France.

Despite receiving offers to head to Hollywood following her turn in Amelie, the actress has been somewhat reluctant, only flying over to star in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code alongside Tom Hanks and Sir Ian McKellen.

"I've never really had a relationship with Hollywood. I've never had a desire to work there," she told The Independent.

"I think I have a lot of luck in French cinema and they give me great female roles. I don't think that I would get such a choice in Hollywood."

Audrey, who next stars in Beautiful Lies, revealed she isn't a fan of stardom.

"It might seem paradoxical given my profession, but I'm not someone who likes to be in the limelight," continued the 34-year-old.

"That is not something that corresponds to who I am and what I want to be. I'm not saying that if I had gone to Hollywood that being thrown into the star system would definitely have happened, but I don't feel comfortable about being the person that everyone is looking at."
