No love for Carell's magic outfits

Steve Carell said his wife prefers him in his natural state

Steve Carell has revealed that his wife couldn't stand his magician's look in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.

The US funnyman, who dons a shaggy wig and flashy velour outfits for his portrayal of the Las Vegas magician in Don Scardino's comedy, admitted his other half Nancy was not a fan.

"I never left the character the entire time. I would wear the wigs home," he said.

"Honestly, my wife was so grossed out by this ultra-tanned, shaved look. It was not her favourite look of mine. She would definitely prefer me in my natural state."

The 50-year-old actor also admitted that he hasn't remembered any magic tricks.

"I learnt a few things but you learn them and get them as refined as you can for that one day and then, when you try to do it the next week, if you haven't been practising, they are gone. They evaporate," he said.

Steve said that the film pokes fun at magicians, but also honours them.

"You could sense that the movie really isn't any sort of hatchet job about magicians, but it really honours them. It really supports them and it's a loving ribbing about magic," he explained.

Jim Carrey, Steve Buscemi and Olivia Wilde also star in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, which is in cinemas now.

Aries:

You will have to defer to others, which makes you anxious. There's never any problem when you're in control. You know how to act quickly and decisively. When others are at the helm, progress grinds to a halt. People deliberate endlessly over simple matters. Instead of putting pressure on the person in charge, make a strategic retreat. If you act like you don't care about the outcome of a situation, they won't be paralysed with uncertainty. You have a tendency to make people nervous.More
