Noomi Rapace to play CIA agent

Noomi Rapace is in talks to play a CIA agent in new spy thriller Unlocked.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star would be working with a fellow countryman - Swedish director Mikael Hafstrom, according to Deadline.com.

Noomi would play a CIA interrogator tricked into getting a terrorist to provide key information to the wrong side and putting her at the centre of a plot to launch a biological attack in London.

The script is the feature debut from Peter O'Brien, and was selected for The Black List. Warner Bros were previously planning to make the movie, but the studio let it go and it will now be made as an independent production.

Mikael's previous work includes thriller Derailed with Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston, horror movie The Rite, starring Sir Anthony Hopkins, and action thriller Escape Plan, starring Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Noomi will next appear with Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and Jason Clarke in drama Child 44, directed by Daniel Espinosa.
