Old soldier Dick ready for Masterchef semis battle

Former military hero Dick Strawbridge will be back to fighting form tonight in Celebrity Masterchef after missing most of the semi-final challenges due to illness.

The ex-soldier, who now works as a TV presenter, only managed to take part in one out of three tasks in the first part of the semi-finals, aired last night on BBC1.

Dick, who grew up in Antrim, was seen helping to cater at a battle re-enactment, along with the three other semi-finalists.

But he was taken ill missed out on the next two daunting challenges. At this stage, it is not known what caused his illness.

Dick will be back tonight though, to help cook a meal for Lord Coe and friends. The three finalists will then be chosen ahead of next week’s final showdown.
