Oscar winners to launch festival

Hollywood legend Robert Redford will be joined by musician T Bone Burnett at his Sundance London festival

A pair of Oscar winners will take to the stage to talk about movies at the launch of a new film festival.

Hollywood legend Robert Redford will be joined by musician T Bone Burnett at his Sundance London festival where they will be quizzed by Fever Pitch author Nick Hornby.

The pair will introduce clips from some of their own films as well as some of their favourite music.

Hornby, whose books About A Boy and High Fidelity have also been made into films, said: "I am delighted and honoured to be given an opportunity to talk to these two extraordinarily influential men. They have been involved in some of my favourite films, and anyone who is interested in movie music, or movies and music, will want to hear what they have to say."

Redford, who won a Best Director Oscar in 1980 and picked up an honorary Oscar in 2001, is the driving force behind the Sundance festival which he set up in Utah more than 20 years ago to promote new filmmakers.

Burnett, who has worked with musicians including Elvis Costello and Robert Plant, won an Oscar in 2009 for the theme song to the film Crazy Heart.

The four day festival, which is being held at the O2 in south-east London, takes place from April 26 and tickets go on sale later this month.

Redford said: "The depth of T Bone's experience and accomplishments in the worlds of both film and music set the stage for the Sundance London program and the celebration of music and film that's to come."

Your Horoscopes by Russell Grant

Taurus:

An embarrassing secret will come to light, affecting your reputation. Somebody who once admired you will now turn away in dismay. Instead of trying to win their affection again, lay low for a wee while. You'll make a much better impression by letting your actions speak for themselves. There is a chance this relationship is beyond redemption. If your former friend decides to keep their distance, you will have no other choice than to respect their feelings. Better luck next time.More
