Page, Wood head Into The Forest

Ellen Page is set to star opposite Evan Rachel Wood in post-apocalyptic drama Into The Forest.

The Oscar-nominated Canadian actress and Evan will play sisters struggling to survive in a remote forest, following the collapse of society, in the big-screen adaptation of Jean Hegland's novel, reported Collider.

Ellen will also be on board as a producer.

Patricia Rozema, who took the reins on period drama Mansfield Park, will direct the film from her own adapted screenplay.

Ellen, who received an Oscar nomination for her performance in comedy-drama Juno, will next be seen reprising her mutant role as Kitty Pryde in X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

The 26-year-old is also attached to star in spy action adventure Queen And Country and star and produce Freeheld, a film based on the Oscar-winning documentary.

Evan, who became a mum with husband Jamie Bell when she gave birth to their son in July, will next star in romantic comedy Charlie Countryman and Justin Long's film, A Case Of You.
