Patel, Sheehan take The Road Within

Dev Patel and Robert Sheehan are heading on a road trip to remember in The Road Within.

The actors have signed on to star alongside Zoe Kravitz in the comedy drama, reported Deadline.

Robert, best known for being in Channel 4 series Misfits, is set to play a young man with Tourette's, whose mother dies leaving him in the care of his estranged politician father. After being sent to a residential home while his dad hits the road for a campaign, he breaks out with an anorexic in-patient (played by Zoe) and his OCD roommate (Dev) on a journey to take his mother's ashes to the ocean.

The film will be directed by first-time filmmaker Gren Wells, from a script she wrote based on the Oscar-winning German film Vincent Will Meer.

Filming is scheduled to start in Los Angeles in July.

Dev - who previously starred in Slumdog Millionaire and Skins - will reprise his TV role as writer Neal Sampat in US drama The Newsroom, while Robert will appear in The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones alongside Lily Collins.

Zoe, who stars alongside Will and Jaden Smith in sci-fi epic After Earth, will next be seen in Mad Max: Fury Road and Divergent.
