Patrick Wilson for Marvel's Ant-Man

Patrick Wilson has joined the cast of new Marvel project Ant-Man.

The Conjuring actor has signed up to become one of Marvel's latest stars in the forthcoming film adaptation of the comic about a brilliant scientist who invents a substance that allows him to change his size, reported Deadline.

Already signed up to star in the film are Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Michael Pena, but it hasn't been announced yet what Patrick's role will be.

Ant-Man was the alter-ego of scientist Henry Pym in the original comic, but later his successors Scott Lang and Eric O'Grady also used his invention.

Patrick is also signed up to star in The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist and his films coming up this year include action comedy Stretch with Chris Pine and Jessica Alba and sci-fi comedy Space Station 76 with Liv Tyler.
