Pattinson to hold on to Mulligan?

Carey Mulligan could be set to star opposite Robert Pattinson

Carey Mulligan looks set to share screen time with Robert Pattinson.

The British stars have apparently signed on to take leading roles in James Marsh's thriller Hold On To Me, reported Deadline.

Carey - last seen in Steve McQueen's Shame - is tipped to play a femme fatale who decides to kidnap a wealthy man for ransom, while the Twilight heartthrob is rumoured to play the "love of her life" in the drama.

Previously titled Nancy And Danny, Hold On To Me is based on a true life account of a couple's kidnapping of their town's richest man that goes awry.

Following his starring turn in the final instalment of the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn - Part 2 opposite on-off girlfriend Kristen Stewart, Robert will star opposite Guy Pearce in David Michod's Australian Western, The Rover.

The 26-year-old is also attached to star as Lawrence of Arabia in Werner Herzog's Queen Of The Desert, and Mission: Blacklist.

Carey, who married Mumford And Sons frontman Marcus Mumford in April, will next star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby.
