Paul Rudd: Chest rug was all mine

Paul Rudd has insisted that his impressive chest hair in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues was all his own.

The actor, who plays Brian Fontana in the Anchorman films, was speaking with co-star Steve Carell (the films' Brick Tamland) who added that the costumes helped them to get back into character after 10 years between movies.

Paul said: "That was my own chest rug. I'm a man with braun, we built the Eiffel Tower out of steel."

Steve said of getting back into character: "It was really easy once we had on all the costumes and the accoutrements. Everybody fell right back into it."

Paul also joked that the atmosphere on set of the comedy had been tense in between takes.

He said: "I think the movie I would say it was comparable to shooting would be Apocalypse Now. Steve had three heart attacks, we had to shut down for about a month, Will (Ferrell) punched a mirror and cut up his hand, and David (Koechner) showed up and didn't know any of his lines and wouldn't say anything. He was kind of the Marlon Brando."

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is in cinemas now.
