Paul Rudd has reportedly been chosen to star as Ant-Man in the new movie adaptation.
The Anchorman star and Joseph Gordon-Levitt were said to be the frontrunners to play the superhero in Edgar Wright's new film in October.
Now sources tell Variety that Paul is in early negotiations for the role.
British filmmaker Edgar Wright will direct the comic book film and has been working on the script with Attack The Block's Joe Cornish for the past few years.
The director of The World's End and Hot Fuzz was said to want more of a witty, everyman character to play the superhero, rather than an action hunk.
Ant-Man is the alter ego of Henry Pym, a scientific genius who invented a substance that allowed him to change his size.
Marvel has moved forward the release date for Ant-Man to July 31, 2015, and Kevin Feige will produce the film.
