Paul Wesley cast in Mother's Day

Paul Wesley has been added to the cast of indie film Mother's Day.

The Vampire Diaries star is joining Susan Sarandon and her real-life daughter Eva Amurri Martino in the drama about the relationships between mothers and daughters.

Deadline reported that Paul will play Kevin, a pastry chef who is dating Eva's character.

The film from director Paul Duddridge will explore 12 interweaving mother-daughter relationships taking place over one Mother's Day.

Sharon Stone, Christina Ricci and another real-life mother and daughter team, Andie MacDowell and Rainey Qualley, have also signed up.

Paul, 32, is best known for being on television in shows such as The Vampire Diaries, Fallen and American Dreams, but his previous movies include Cloud 9 and Beneath The Blue.
