Pearce and West find Genius roles

Guy Pearce and Dominic West are to join the cast of Michael Grandage's feature debut, Genius.

The Australian star will play The Great Gatsby author F Scott Fitzgerald, while Golden Globe nominee Dominic has been cast as Ernest Hemingway in the big-screen adaptation of A Scott Berg's book, reported Deadline.

Jude Law and Colin Firth are already on board, as novelist Thomas Wolfe and his editor Max Perkins respectively. The film will chronicle the true story of the pair's complex relationship.

Nicole Kidman is to portray costume designer Aline Bernstein, who was romantically linked to Wolfe, with Laura Linney as Colin's screen wife Louise.

Genius, which has been adapted for the big screen by Skyfall screenwriter John Logan, is expected to start shooting in October at Shepperton Studios and on various locations around the UK.

The film marks the third collaboration between director Michael, his producing partner James Bierman and writer John following the stage productions of Red and Peter And Alice, starring Dame Judi Dench.
