Pearce set for directorial debut

Drew Pearce is to direct his film The Long Run

Writer Drew Pearce has signed a deal to direct his own movie.

The British writer - who has worked on blockbuster Hollywood films such as Iron Man 3 and Mission: Impossible 5 - will make his directorial debut with The Long Run, which he also penned.

Few details about the project are known, other than that it is an original crime action comedy, reported Deadline.

Drew tweeted a link to the news story announcing the deal, saying: "Small beans for the universe. Big beans for me..."

In response to a congratulatory tweet, he later added: "Fingers crossed I don't utterly f*** it up."
