Michael Pena is to play a holy man in thriller The Vatican Tapes.
The End Of Watch star has been cast as Father Lozano in the demonic horror, to be directed by Crank and Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance filmmaker Mark Neveldine, reported Deadline.
The news was announced by Lakeshore Entertainment and Lionsgate, who will make the movie.
Olivia Dudley is already on board to portray a woman who seems to cause death and destruction to those around her, and Michael's character is a local priest who tries to help her.
Djimon Hounsou and Dougray Scott also have roles in the movie, which has been written by Christopher Borrelli.
Shooting is expected to start in coming weeks.
Chicago-born actor Michael - who starred opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in the gritty cop drama End Of Watch - is set to reunite with director David Ayer for World War II drama Fury with Brad Pitt.
He has also joined David O Russell's con-artist film American Hustle alongside Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Jennifer Lawrence.
The 37-year-old will next play civil rights activist Cesar Chavez in Diego Luna's biopic Chavez, and will be heard as Tito in DreamWorks animation Turbo.
