Perlman: I want to do more Hellboy

Ron Perlman says he wants to do another Hellboy movie for the fans

Ron Perlman has confessed he is pushing for a third Hellboy movie to be made.

The Pacific Rim star played the demonic but well-meaning comic book hero in two films written and directed by Guillermo del Toro. The director recently revealed he is struggling to raise money for Hellboy III.

Asked if he would star in another instalment Ron said: "I would never rule it out. It doesn't look good, but I'm not giving up hope. We owe it the fans, that's what it's all about."

The 63-year-old actor admitted he had never read the Hellboy comic series before he did the film, but devoted fan Guillermo's passion made the character exciting.

He said: "Delving into the world of Hellboy, like I was forced to do because my friend Guillermo is truly a devotee and truly has his own very evolved tastes when it comes to comic book characters.

"His favourite comic book character of all time was Hellboy. He introduced me to him and then allowed me to wear his shoes for a couple of years. That's a phenomenal character brilliantly conceived."

Ron revealed he had been a Superman fan when he was younger, but he thinks that the comic book hero has been adapted too much.

He said: "I was never a comic book guy. My first and last love was Superman, and I would say there's been a couple of those, maybe too many. Superman has been explored to the point where I couldn't give a s*** any more."

Leo:

Don't get involved with a hidden intrigue. The drama will be exciting at first, but eventually you will tire of keeping secrets. If someone is interested in you romantically, you shouldn't have to sneak around together. An oppressive work situation may tempt you to quit your job. Try not to discuss your plans with colleagues. You don't want a rival to tell your employer about your resignation until you're ready to tender it. Protect your interests at all costs.More
