Alex Pettyfer is in talks to star in the remake of Endless Love.
The Magic Mike actor and Gabriella Wilde are apparently headed to the new big-screen adaptation of Scott Spencer's book following a long casting process, reported Variety.
Country Strong director Shana Feste, who has also rewritten the script, will be taking control of the remake of Franco Zeffirelli's 1981 movie, focusing on a passionate relationship between two teenagers who are madly in love.
Brooke Shields and Martin Hewitt starred in the original film, which also featured Tom Cruise in his first film role.
Up-and-coming starlets Olivia Cooke and Sarah Bolger and former Home And Away actor Brenton Thwaites were reportedly in the running for the lead roles.
Alex has starred in I Am Number Four and In Time, while Gabriella will next be in the Carrie remake opposite Chloe Moretz.
