Pierce Brosnan set for new thriller

Pierce Brosnan would play a former IRA hitman in the film

Pierce Brosnan has apparently landed a role in a new thriller.

The former James Bond actor will star in Last Man Out, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

It's thought Pierce will take on the lead role of a former IRA hitman who, released from prison after serving 20 years for murder, is haunted by the memory of his victims and decides to avenge their deaths.

The movie, adapted from Stuart Neville's The Twelve, will start shooting later this year with director Terry Loan at the helm.

Pierce, 59, was last seen on screen last year in Danish film Love Is All You Need.
