Pineapple Express 2 'may happen'

Seth Rogen might make a sequel to Pineapple Express

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have teased that there could be a sequel to Pineapple Express in the future.

The duo, who wrote the 2008 stoner comedy together, addressed the rumours about a follow-up in their new film This Is The End, with a Pineapple Express 2 mini-movie.

"There's a little Pineapple Express 2 featurette in the middle of this movie. We always talk about doing Pineapple Express 2 and then we thought, 'Why don't we kind of, sort of do it in the film?'," said Evan.

"It means the same as always - you might (still see a sequel)," he hinted.

Seth added: "If anything, people think the idea is ridiculous. That's the actual plot we have, that's in the movie, so we'll see people go, 'Really?' Which makes us think maybe we should go with a new story. Or maybe we shouldn't. We don't show the ending, so it could end spectacularly."

Seth and Evan, who have written together for years, make their debut as directors with apocalyptic comedy This Is The End, which Seth also stars in alongside friends James Franco, Danny McBride, Jonah Hill and Jay Baruchel.

"It was extra fun. It was a lot less intimidating, I think, because we were directing our friends," he said, joking: "Real actors are scary."

Evan added: "We'll only work with people after we've befriended them. Socially we get to know them and then we'll work with them."

Emma Watson, Michael Cera, Rihanna and a number of other stars also make appearances in This Is The End, which is in cinemas now.
