Polanski wins European film honour

Roman Polanski has been honoured at the European Film Awards

Roman Polanski's political thriller The Ghost Writer has won the prize for best film at the European Film Awards.

Polanski's movie was also the winner in five other key European Film Academy categories, including best director and best actor for Ewan McGregor. Sylvie Testud from France won best actress in Lourdes.

At a ceremony in the Estonian capital, the academy also bestowed a lifetime honour on Swiss actor Bruno Ganz.

Composer and musician Gabriel Yared was awarded for writing scores to such films as The English Patient and The Talented Mr Ripley.

The academy has granted the European film prizes since 1988 to celebrate the continent's film industry as a counterweight to the Oscars.

Taurus:

An embarrassing secret will come to light, affecting your reputation. Somebody who once admired you will now turn away in dismay. Instead of trying to win their affection again, lay low for a wee while. You'll make a much better impression by letting your actions speak for themselves. There is a chance this relationship is beyond redemption. If your former friend decides to keep their distance, you will have no other choice than to respect their feelings. Better luck next time.More
