Portman: Hemsworth's wife stood in

Natalie Portman has revealed the reason why her final kissing scene with Chris Hemsworth in Thor: The Dark World looked so passionate is because his wife stood in for her.

The Black Swan actress told the New York Daily News that she had been unable to get back to set in time to reshoot the scene, so Chris' real life love Elsa Pataky put on a wig and her costume to help out with the kiss.

She said: "It was for reshoots and he was working in Hong Kong and I couldn't get there because I was working on my own film. And so they put his wife in my wig and costume. That's why it was so passionate.

"It was such a perfect solution, wasn't it?"

Chris and Elsa have an 18-month-old daughter and are now expecting their second child.

Elsa, also an actress, has appeared in Fast And Furious 5 and 6.
