Psychologist role for Maria Bello

Maria Bello will play a police psychologist in her new movie

Mario Bello has been cast as the female lead in a new thriller.

The Abduction actress will play a police psychologist in the as yet untitled movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog.

The film, which will be directed by Will Canon, follows a detective and a psychologist looking into the massacre of a group of college students at a ruined house.

Things take a spooky turn when it starts to seem as if the house itself was to blame for the deaths.

Maria, 45, has most recently been seen on the small screen in Kiefer Sutherland's drama Touch and also starred in the American version of the TV show Prime Suspect.

As well as her new thriller, she is due to start working on a follow up to her 2010 comedy Grown Ups, alongside Adam Sandler.
