Rafe Spall: Anonymous was posh
Rafe Spall has said that making Anonymous - his first big-budget film - "felt posh".
The Pete Vs Life actor, who is the son of Timothy Spall, appears as a pseudo William Shakespeare in Roland Emmerich's period romp.
He said: "On the first day I got to the set, there were little presents from Sony. I've never had a little present from anyone, it was wicked. And getting to do scenes with 800 extras in The Globe, it felt posh."
The film theorises that the plays were actually written by the Earl of Oxford (played by Rhys Ifans).
"My personal opinion is that a group of people probably wrote those plays," Rafe said.
The actor has also just returned from Iceland where he filmed Prometheus, an offshoot of Alien, with Ridley Scott.
"When you're five years old and you imagine being an actor, you imagine being in an alien film," he said.
"It was an extraordinary experience and felt like being part of movie history."
:: Pete Vs Life begins on Channel 4 on Friday, October 21.
