Rafe Spall's anxiety at premiere

Rafe Spall said seeing his nudity on the big screen surrounded by his family was a little awkward

Rafe Spall has revealed his embarrassment at watching the premiere of new film - featuring a full-frontal nude scene - with his mother-in-law.

I Give It A Year features a scene in which X-rated snaps of an unsuited, newlywed couple, played by Rafe and Rose Byrne, are accidentally seen by his character's horrified in-laws.

Rafe told the Daily Mirror: "At the premiere I was sat with my wife, who had not seen it yet - she'd seen my w***y but not the film - and my mother-in-law, my mother, my two sisters, my wife's sister.

"All with a giant blown-up picture of my w***y on the cinema screen. It was like a strange anxiety dream that I was living for real. They thought it was funny, thankfully."

Rafe also told the newspaper that he weighed over 18 stone by the age of 20, but shed the weight to increase his chances of getting more diverse roles.

"You need an impetus and a goal and mine was that I wanted to be considered for lead parts," he said.
