Raimi dashes hopes of Oz sequel
Sam Raimi has revealed his doubts over another Oz film.
The Spider-Man filmmaker has directed a prequel to the Wizard Of Oz, Oz The Great And Powerful, but admitted he doesn't know if more films are in the works.
"It was really this particular story that appealed to me and I don't know if that would exist in another sequel or not," he said.
The film marks his fourth collaboration with James Franco (who plays Wizard of Oz), whom he previously worked with on the Spider-Man films.
"I love working with James," he said.
"Actors need really good communication with their stars and after working with James on three of the Spider-Man movies, I got to know him really well and we got to trust each other, so we had a very deep level of communication and a shorthand going into this picture, which really aided the acting and directing, I think."
James added: "It was a blast. It's great to work with Sam Raimi again, and it's a fun character - he's a bit flawed, he's a bit of a conman so it's always fun to play that."
