Redford keeps award-winning company

Susan Sarandon would play a former member of a radical group

Susan Sarandon, Julie Christie and Richard Jenkins have apparently joined the cast of Robert Redford's The Company You Keep.

Shia LaBeouf is starring in the political thriller as a young, ambitious reporter who tracks down a former militant wanted by the FBI, played by Robert, forcing him on the run.

Susan and Julie will play fellow former members of the radical group, who were accomplices in the bank robbery, and Richard will play a college professor who is a link to the ex-militants in hiding, Deadline reports.

As well as starring in the film Robert will co-produce and direct, working from a script by Lem Dobbs and adapted from the novel by Neil Gordon.

Nicolas Chartier, co-producer from Voltage Pictures said: "This is an edge-of-your-seat thriller about real Americans who stood for their beliefs, thinking they were patriots and defending their country's ideals against their government."

Filming is set to begin in Vancouver in September.

Your Horoscopes by Russell Grant

Scorpio:

You should be justifiably proud of your progress. It isn't easy to break a bad habit, but you've managed to do so. A perverse side of your personality may tempt you to fall back on the old ways, just to give yourself another challenge. Ignore these impulses. Channel your energy in a positive direction instead. Learning to make clothes, furniture or jewellery will be a great use of your creative ability. You'll be especially successful if you use old, discarded materials in your work.More
