Reeves set for Planet Of The Apes 3

Matt Reeves is set to direct Planet Of The Apes 3.

The Cloverfield director was at the helm of the second film in the franchise, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. And even though that film is yet to be released, he has already been signed up to take the reins again for the third instalment, reported Deadline.

Matt will also write the script with Mark Bomback, who worked on the sequel.

His upcoming Apes film sees Andy Serkis reprising his role as Caesar, the intelligent ape, and also stars Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, and Keri Russell. It is due to be released later this year.

The first film in the series, 2011's Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, was directed by Rupert Wyatt.
