Reilly: I was an old-school gamer

John C Reilly and Sarah Silverman provide the voices for Wreck It Ralph

Wreck-It Ralph's John C Reilly has revealed he used to play a lot of arcade games in his childhood days.

The Oscar-nominated actor - who plays a video game villain in the Disney movie - said he was one of those kids who would spend all their pocket money on playing games.

"We never called each other a gamer, that's a new term. It was just Player One and Player Two back when I did it," he joked.

"I was like the first generation of kids that got Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Missile Command and all those kind of cool games that we used to play. I was really into it like everyone I knew. We spent all of our spare change playing those games," added the 47-year-old.

John - who attended a red carpet screening of the film with co-star Sarah Silverman and director Rich Moore at Notting Hill's Electric Cinema in London - said he enjoys games like Bananagrams and Apples To Apples these days.

"I don't play games as much but every once in a while, a new game will come around. I've been playing Bananagrams - it's like Scrabble without the waiting or adding up points. It's rapid-fire and is really fun," he said.

"There's another game called Apples To Apples, which I love. It's a very creative game," he added.

:: Wreck-It Ralph opens in cinemas on February 8.
