Jeremy Renner has been putting in the hours at the gym for the fourth Mission: Impossible film.

The Hurt Locker actor stars alongside Tom Cruise, who reprises his role as secret agent Ethan Hunt in Ghost Protocol, and reckons his fitness is being put to shame by his co-star.

"I'm training in the gym and working out and fighting and doing everything I can to try and keep up - I'm doing hand-to-hand combat, Muay Thai and kung fu and learning how to take someone out quickly; I need to look like I know what I'm doing!" he told MTV.

Jeremy has been in Dubai filming with Tom.

"I haven't gotten to work too much in terms of acting stuff, but the stunts have been insane," he added.

"Tom has been doing loads. He's crazy, that guy. It's unbelievable. He's fearless. He's great to watch. He inspires me to want to be better."

The 39-year-old also confirmed that he could be taking over the franchise from Tom.

"It's a franchise to potentially take over. I can't predict the future and what they want, but that's certainly the idea," he said.

Jeremy declined to reveal too much about the storyline of Ghost Protocol, saying: "I can't really go into the details of the script, because that's still evolving. It's Tom's baby. He's the engine behind the thing. What happens after that, we'll see."

It's sometimes difficult for a retiring person like you to showcase your talent. You are tired of being eclipsed by pushy rivals. By showing your work to the right people, you can finally gain the fame and acclaim you deserve. Fortunately, an influential friend, neighbour or colleague can set up an interview or introduction. An important executive or critic will be impressed by your efforts. If you're offered an unpaid position as an intern or apprentice, take it. This will lead to professional opportunities you couldn't find through other channels.More
