Reynolds: Croods left me croaky

Ryan Reynolds' vocal talents can be heard in The Croods

Ryan Reynolds has revealed he almost lost his voice making animated film The Croods.

The Green Lantern star voices Guy the caveman in the animated comedy co-starring Emma Stone and Nicolas Cage, and told Us Weekly how hours in the recording booth wasn't as easy as he expected it to be.

Ryan said: "The producers booked me for a few three-hour sessions. I was like, 'Are you kidding me?'."

"My voice was gone. I was tapped out!"

The Croods tells the story of a prehistoric family who embark on a journey to find a new home when their cave is destroyed.

Ryan has been filming his new project Queen Of The Night with Rosario Dawson.

The film is being directed by Canadian Atom Egoyan, who co-wrote the script, which will see Ryan play the father of an abducted child.
