Ryan Reynolds is planning a family Christmas, he has revealed.
The screen star, who is married to Green Lantern co-star Blake Lively, will head home to Vancouver, Canada to spend the festive season with his loved ones, although he did not say if his wife would join him.
The 36-year-old said at the New York screening of The Croods: "My holiday plans are always the same. I go up to Canada to see my family."
He joked: "Canada also celebrates Christmas. We're crazy about it. It's Christmas with a much smaller military presence. I'm going to go there and see them and try not to bleed too much around my brothers."
Ryan - who tied the knot to Blake in September - lends his voice to Guy in the DreamWorks animated prehistoric comedy, which also stars Emma Stone and Nicolas Cage.
"Guy has been alone for his whole life, or for the vast majority of it," he explained.
"The one thing he doesn't experience is what it's like to have a family and to be loved and cared for. When he meets the Croods, although it's a battle, he achieves some of that peace through those relationships."
The Croods will open in US cinemas in March 2013, with no UK release planned as yet.
