Jonathan Rhys Meyers looks set to join the cast of the Mortal Instruments movie.
The Irish actor is currently in talks about a part in The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones, the big-screen adaptation of the first novel in Cassandra Clare's young adult fantasy series, according to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog.
Lily Collins is already on board as a young woman "who discovers she is the descendant of a secret cadre of half-angel warriors called Shadowhunters locked in an ancient battle to protect the world from demons".
Harry Potter actor Jamie Campbell Bower is the lead half-angel warrior and Canadian actor Kevin Durand is thought to be taking a villainous role.
Jonathan is tipped for the part of powerful Shadowhunter Valentine Morgenstern.
Lena Headey and Jared Harris are also among the cast of the movie, which will be directed by The Karate Kid's Harold Zwart.
Production is due to begin in Toronto this month.
